Tension In Germany As Borussia Dortmund Wants Haaland To Make Decision Over Future

Erling Haaland has been told to quickly decide on his future by Borussia Dortmund chiefs following speculations the Norwegian is about to leave the Bundesliga club. Top European clubs including Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have indicated their interest in signing the 21-year-old striker next summer.

According to Goal, Borussia Dortmund’s license director, Sebastian Kehl, has rubbished reports Haaland has signed an agreement to join Premier League side, Manchester City but disclosed the club is waiting on the striker to make a decision on his future.

“We have an exit clause that is known and there is a deadline.

“We want a decision as soon as possible.”

Dortmund has placed a €75 million price tag on Erling Haaland with the 21-year-old’s contract set to expire in 2024. Haaland however is free to walk away from his present contract with Dortmund if the price is right as the Norwegian has a gentleman’s agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are not backing down in their pursuit to land Erling Haaland next summer as the La Liga giants want to hijack the deal from Manchester City. According to ESPN, the Galacticos have made an approach for the 21-year-old Norway star as they are keen to respond to Pep Guardiola’s attempts to persuade him to the Premier League.

Haaland has 25 goals in as many appearances for Dortmund this season in all competitions, including two goals in Sunday’s 6-1 Bundesliga triumph over Wolfsburg.
