EXCLUSIVE: Why I Appointed Enyimba’s Adegbite As Flying Eagles Captain –Bosso

Enyimba International central defender, Oluwatosin Adegbite, will lead the Flying Eagles to WAFU B U-20 Championship in Niamey, Niger Republic as Captain, Head coach Ladan Bosso has revealed exclusively to Completesports.com.

He will be assisted by Mohammed Aminu of Gombe United in Nigeria’s quest to pick one of the two tickets for the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt.

Explaining the reasons he picked Adegbite as the new captain of the Flying Eagles, Bosso stated that the young Enyimba rising star has showed he has the quality to lead the team in the few days they have been in camp preparing for the tournament

“We appointed Oluwatosin Adegbite as the captain of the team because of the many qualities he displays in camp. He is aside being an experienced young man playing for one of the biggest clubs in Africa, his leadership and organizational ability is second to none,” Bosso told Completesports.

“He has this aura that rubbed off on other players from the lower leagues and academies, as well as on his fellow NPFL colleagues in the team during the friendly games we played and at the team’s lodge. I just pray his leadership brings us the luck to qualify and his talent will come to the open.

“His assistant Mohammed Aminu who plays as a midfielder for Gombe United got picked because of his calming influence on his peers, on and off the pitch and his experience was also considered,” the Minna,-born coach stated.

Flying Eagles will confront Black Satellites of Ghana in their first Group B match of the 2022 WAFU B U-20 Championship on Sunday May 8 in Niamey, Niger Republic. Burkina Faso is the other team in the three-team group.

Hosts Niger Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo and Benin Republic are in Group A.

The Egypt 2023 U-20 AFCON which holds from May 7th to 20th May serves as the qualifiers for the 2023 U-20 AFCON. Only the winners of Group A and B will qualify for the tournament.
