Nottingham Forest could enter the market for a new goalkeeper this month after Dean Henderson was ruled out for a month with a thigh injury.

The England goalkeeper has been in fine form for Forest this term since joining on a season-long loan deal from .

Henderson was the hero as Forest beat Wolves to progress to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, where Steve Cooper’s men will take on United.

EFL rules stipulate that Henderson would be ineligible to face his parent club over the two legs, unless United granted Forest permission to field Henderson.

But that debate has been by an injury suffered by Henderson in Forest’s 2-0 win against Leicester on Saturday.

The goalkeeper suffered the injury during the win but was able to carry on, only for scan results to show he’d suffered significant damage.

Wayne Hennessey is set to deputise for Henderson in the interim but Forest will consider entering the market for a new goalkeeper this month.

If Henderson is out for four weeks, he will miss up to six matches – including games against relegation rivals Bournemouth and Leeds United.

In better news for the club, Brazil midfielder Danilo is currently undergoing his medical before joining the club in a £16m deal.

Danilo was keen on joining Arsenal last summer, when his club were demanding a fee of around £40m.
