Benjamin Pavard has broken his silence after he was linked with a move to from this summer.

United saw a bid rejected for the 26-year-old France international defender, who has won three Bundesliga titles and the with Bayern.

, Atletico Madrid and Juventus were also linked with Pavard, but he ultimately decided to stay with the German giants.

Pavard is under contract until 2024 and is a versatile asset as he is able to operate in multiple positions across the backline – right-back and centre-back.

Speaking to French outlet Téléfoot about interest from other teams this summer, Pavard said: ‘I questioned myself. I had calls from different clubs with my agent.

‘Afterwards, I had the Bayern coach with whom we spoke and with whom we have a good relationship.

‘He made me understand that I was in his plans, that I was important for the team.

‘Maybe one day I will go to one of these clubs, you never know what the future holds. I’m still [at] Bayern Munich. Afterwards, we have time.’

It has been a tricky start to the season for Bayern domestically, who have not registered a victory in their last four Bundesliga games.

The current league champions – who have won the last 10 German top-flight titles in a row – were beaten 1-0 by Augsburg on Saturday following draws with VfB Stuttgart, Union Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Those results have seen them drop to fourth in the table, behind Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and SC Freiburg, despite a strong start in the  in which they have won their opening two games to top Group C.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has accused players of not treating the Bundesliga seriously, telling Sport1: ‘We’re totally convinced of Julian [Nagelsmann].

‘Of course, he’s concerned, everyone is. We’re in a bad mood. Some players probably believe the Bundesliga can be considered secondary. You can’t do that.’
