Perhaps he wasn’t quick enough with his ‘avada kedavra’ curse, but this alleged trespasser learned not to bring a wand to a gun battle.

Skylar Eros Dupree Thomas is said to have been confronted by staff when he walked into a Hyatt Place Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, despite being barred.

He was asked repeatedly to leave but instead started shouting racist abuse, according to a criminal complaint.

He was followed out of the hotel by a worker but turned round brandishing a wand at around midnight on Friday.

Thinking it was a knife, the employee – who had a conceal-and-carry permit – whipped out his gun.

Thomas kicked a trash can then walked away before turning around and pointing the wand at them. Once again no spells were cast, so Thomas ran off.

The complaint said: ‘From previous calls, (the officer) knew that the defendant was referencing a stick that had been fashioned into what looked like a wizard’s wand.’

A witness confirmed the worker’s story to authorities. Thomas’ wand was roughly 16 inches long and had a metal point at the tip that looked like a knife, investigators said.

Last November, Thomas was issued a trespass notice that bars him from going into the hotel until the end of November.

Thomas was charged with fifth-degree assault and trespassing, both which are misdemeanors. If convicted, Thomas could be hit with a fine of up to $2,000, and or face up to 180 days in prison.

He was arraigned on Monday and has been granted a conditional release. Thomas’ pretrial hearing has been scheduled for May 19.
