I Still Miss Him – Actress Chigul Remembers Late Dad, Emeka Omeruah

Chigul posted her dad’s photo on Instagram on Sunday to celebrate him on Father’s Day.

Popular Nollywood actress, Chioma Omeruah, popularly known as Chigul has remembered her late father who was a  former governor of Anambra State, Commodore Samson Emeka Omeruah, 16 years after his demise.

The comedienne posted her dad’s photo on Instagram on Sunday to celebrate him on Father’s Day.

The actress described her dad as one of the most determined and resilient people she knew.

She wrote: “Uwanileeeeee…..The late Dr. Air Cdre Sampson Emeka Omeruah (rtd) My daddy. My Guy..it’s an old picture..he was probably still a Group Captain then, one of the most determined and resilient people I know….whatever goals he set, he achieved….taught me about focus and determination.

“Daddy has been gone now for 16 years and I miss him still….They say it’s father’s Day. Happy father’s Day to all the real fathers out there.

The late Omeruah, a Knight of the Anglican Diocese of Nigeria, was a three-time minister for information, youth, sport and culture and was in charge in 1985 when the then Golden Eaglets (now known as Super Eagles) won the inaugural FIFA Under-16 World Championship Cup in China.

He was also chairman of the Nigerian Football Association (NFA) when the Super Eagles won the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Tunisia in 1994 as well as when the national Under-23 team won the historic Africa’s first soccer gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

He died on December 4, 2006, at a London hospital.
