could be facing three months on the sidelines with the midfielder anxiously awaiting results on a scan on his injured knee.

The Frenchman left to rejoin earlier this summer following six years back at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old has featured just once in Juventus’ tour, playing against Chivas in the United States.

But Juventus have ruled him out of their friendly with Barcelona after Pogba sustained an injury to his lateral meniscus.

The Italians say Pogba will visit a specialist to diagnose the problem but he’s set to miss the start of the Serie A season and could be set for two to three months on the sidelines.

‘Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus,’ the club said in a statement.

Pogba’s injury may force Juventus into a rethink over their transfer business.

The Old Lady had been keen to clear the decks, with Adrien Rabiot and Arthur Melo set to depart.

However, should the results indicate that Pogba is set for months on the sidelines, the club may opt to keep one of the midfielders.
