Barcelona has entered the history books after smashing the all-time attendance record for a women’s game in their Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

The Blaugranes had defeated Real Madrid in the quarter-finals first-leg tie and were considered favourites to progress to the next round.

According to a report by TalkSport, A grand total of 91,553 were in attendance to watch the second leg at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona has now surpassed the previous record attendance for a women’s football match which was set in 2012 at the final of the London Olympics when the United States defeated Japan 2-1 to win gold.

The Spanish champions also broke the record for a club game of 60,739 spectators set by themselves in 2019 against Atletico Madrid.
