may have already brought in and this month, but they still hold an interest in beating Tottenham and Arsenal to Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.
The Blues have continued their big-spending since and his consortium bought the club last year, signing Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk and bringing in Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid, which may be short-term but wasn’t cheap.
The mid-season revamp may not be finished there as reports that Chelsea are also keen on Trossard who looks set to leave Brighton this month.
The Belgian has fallen out with Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi and, with his contract expiring next year, he looks set to be sold to one of Brighton’s Premier League rivals.
Spurs have already made a bid for the 28-year-old, worth around £12m as they look to pick up a bargain amid the tension at Brighton, but that has been turned down.
The Seagulls reportedly want around £25m for Trossard, which they are confident about getting given the clubs interested in his signature.
While De Zerbi is open to Trossard staying, the club have offered him to suitors and will be happy to sell him for the asking price they have set.
Speaking about Trossard, De Zerbi said: ‘In this moment I am sorry for this situation. I think I didn’t make a mistake with him. The people who work inside of Brighton know very well the situation and I am fine with myself.
‘I am open to wait for him. I am ready to open the door for him because he is a good guy and he is a very good player for us, very important player.
‘But he has to understand that he has to work with my attitude, in my way because I am coach and I decide the rules inside the dressing room.’
