A trio of bears have been caught on camera breaking and entering a parked car to sniff out snacks.

The grizzly gang struck in Lake Tahoe, California – which is home to the infamous 500-pound black bear Hank the Tank.

But on May 10, a different bear was caught making mischief in the town.

A mother bear was spotted leading her two young cubs through the streets of Lake Tahoe while on the hunt for food.

They came across a black Chevrolet Suburban, and were then picked up on a Ring doorbell video creeping towards it in the snow.

The mother bear can be seen reaching up to unlock the vehicle.

She then jumps into the driver’s seat to sniff across the car’s interior.

The footage cames amid wider bear drama in Lake Tahoe.

Wildlife authorities in the region are battling over what to do with Hank the Tank, the furry felon behind numerous break-ins across the town.

There have been more than 150 calls to wildlife personnel in recent months regarding the bothersome bear.

Hank

He has reportedly struck at around 30 homes in the Lake Tahoe area of California.

The meddlesome mammal has been known to smash windows with his big paws before squeezing through the gaps in search of food.

Peter Tira, a spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, told the San Francisco Gate earlier this year: ‘What’s problematic about this bear is how large it is.

‘It’s learned to use that size and strength to break into a number of occupied residences, bursting through the garage door or front door. It’s pretty frightening.’

In Spring, concern had grown for Hank after he seemed to have disappeared from the limelight.

But he was caught on camera in April marauding through the town.

The recent Chevolret break-in has reinforced claims from Hank’s fans that he has in fact been unfairly blamed for a multitude of crimes.

Backers of the bear claim he is innocent and maintain he has been ‘framed’ by the authorities.

’Hank was a convenient scapegoat for general bear damage because he is easily recognizable to people who know what traits to look for.

‘Hank, who was blamed for all the break ins, was in danger of being euthanised.’

DNA evidence was analysed in February which suggests the break-ins associated with Hank the Tank could in fact, be three separate bears.
