Bronx high school shooting: Girl, 16, and two teens injured in drive-by

A 16-year-old girl was and two teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting outside of a high school in the Bronx on Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 2.30pm outside of University Heights Secondary School in the South Bronx in New York City.

The girl, who has not been identified, was shot in the torso. She attended University Prep Charter High School about a block away from where she was shot, according to the .

The two other teenagers who were shot were a boy and a girl, both aged 17. The boy was shot in the buttocks and the injured female was struck in the leg, the newspaper reported. They were transported to Lincoln Hospital and are expected to survive. They reportedly attend Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School, which is within University Heights.

A man believed to be in his 20s was seen driving away east on 156th Street following the shooting.

Video footage shows police officers doing chest compressions on one of the female victims on the street with blood around her. Another clip appeared to show a teen on the sidewalk lying down, holding a leg.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ press secretary wrote: ‘Sadly, there was a triple shooting of three youth in the Bronx. Details are still coming in, but @NYCMayor has been briefed with the available information. He had already left Yankee Stadium when he was informed of the shooting.’
